Here Comes Santa Claus

Here we are again...same mall, same Santa, minus one kid. Emerson was scared out of her mind..not in the cute, 'oh look at her cry a little...take a picture it will be cute' way, but a screaming hysterically, digging her fingers in my shoulder before I even handed her over to the big guy kind of way. So, Grace goes solo.

My goodness, she has grown up!! What a pretty little lady...

She asked for a teddy bear...what?...where did that come from?...

Smiling thru her tears...worried that that big guy is gonna steal her Gracie...

Crazy Hair Day

Maybe not that crazy, but fun all the same...

...and your eyes do not deceive.. This is our tree for the year. Grace takes great pride in her hanging of the ornaments and she was instructed to keep them high so that Eme can't reach them because if Eme can reach them, then I would have to sit under the tree all day long...and I don't want to do that...

Plain and simple.

What a Dolly!

The sweetest(seriously), cutest little girl EVER! I love my Bug!!! :)

Bravo, Josie!

Job well done, Josie Bean!!! We loved your performance last night!!! :)

Dear Eme Lou-

I love you. I really, really do. Sometimes, though, you just whine...a lot...and I don't really get it. Could you try being a little more quiet, just sometimes? You have a great voice, but not so much when it's really loud and high pitched and it causes my ear drum to kind of go numb for a little bit...and you do it over and over again...in a store...like today.

Please try not to do that anymore.

Hugs and Kisses!
Mommy

We are so proud of you Tiny Boo!!! :)

Wildcat

Introducing the Wheeler Wildcat of the Week!!! :)

Grace is thrilled w/ her title for the week...she's a SUPERSTAR! :) She gets to have 'the sign' in her yard for a week, bring in pictures, a life size paper cut out of herself, treats and...her favorite thing in the world... she gets to talk about herself to the class. :)

It's gonna be a good one...

Oh, and please take note of the bangs...Grace decided to give herself a haircut this weekend so that her duck could have a nest...

Whatever...

Phew

Emerson did great today. She hated most of it, but she got through it. :) She cried through all the pretest stuff which included horrible things(lol) like taking her temp, listening to her lungs, looking in her throat, getting weighed and taking her blood pressure. The nurse talked the radiologist out of the contrast(hurray!), so no iv was needed, just some icky tasting medicine to make her sleep.

She, in typical Emerson style, fought sleep, but finally drifted off. I went into the MRI room(only one parent allowed in there) w/ her while Mike hung w/ Jeff in the lobby...Jeff, we love you! Thanks for coming up to keep us company! She looked quite cute wrapped in a blanket, ear muff like ear plugs on, sound asleep. I got in some reading time while the machine did it's thing.

Afterwards, she slept for about a half hour and then woke up quite drunk-like...very, very funny to see. Her head was lolling around and she kept grinning w/ glassy eyes. :) She devoured apple juice and Cheerios after being deprived of food and beverage for the previous 6 hours or so.

Happy to report that after a nap here at home, she is back to crawling around and grabbing at everything she's not supposed to. ;)

The results came back as normal w/ the exception of a benign Cerebral Fluid Collection. We are told it's nothing to worry about, no further testing, she's good to go.

Yay! Thank You! :)

Prayers, Please

Emerson is scheduled for a head MRI on Friday. Her head is growing too big too fast, so they just want to make sure nothing is going on in there. Due to her age, she requires sedation, so Mommy is freaking out just a bit.

Please send any prayers, good vibes, whatever you do, Emerson's way. Thanks.

And I Quote...

"We need to get a John Mayer...our own John Mayer."(Grace)
"Where do we get one of those?"(Mommy)
"At the fair."(Grace)
...Grace and Mommy, today while putting away cds that Emerson had pulled off the cd rack.

Well...if I'd known it was that easy...:)

And I Quote...

Grace and I watched Mike's & my wedding video(our anniversary is fast approaching) tonight and Grace had many things to say...'Mommy, Daddy looks waaaaay different'...yes, I suppose he does. 'Mommy, you were so beautiful then'..oh...thanks?

So, as I explained who my aunt, uncle and cousins were and the fact that a few of them live in Virginia, she said..."They speak a different language there, right? Like in China...right?"

Proud!

Mike and I attended Grace's first parent-teacher conference on Tuesday. Nothing but positive energy coming off that one! Yay! :)

We were told that she is very sweet, has gained a ton of confidence in the last month and tries very hard to help the other kids when they are struggling w/ their work...so much so that sometimes Mrs. Jaworski has to remind Grace to let them try to do it on their own. I asked how she is socially and Mrs. J said she has several friends and doesn't seem to stick w/ just one or two in particular. She is always in w/ a group at recess and appears to be well liked(phew!). ;)

She got all 'S's, w/ the exception of one 'E' for letter recognition(apparently she went above and beyond on that one). Reading comprehension and writing seem to be her strong points while numbers are good, but seem to be her weaker area(no surprise there, considering Mike and I are her parents...math was not always our friend when we were young). :)

Mrs. Jaworski told us that she did talk to her about not kissing her classmates, which I was happy about. She also told us that in the beginning, Grace seldom raised her hand to answer questions, so from time to time Mrs. J would just ask her...Grace's response? "I didn't have my hand up." :) She is gaining confidence.

So proud!!!

When Mother Nature Gives You a Surprise Gift...

...say THANK YOU!!! :)

We LOVED the surprise snowfall yesterday(yes, it's October...it's Nebraska..hello?!)!! Nothing more beautiful than newly fallen snow!! I was a picture taking fool yesterday...

Grace and Mags wandered around and around...

It wasn't long til Boo wanted in on the action...

The girls and their favorite backyard activity...Emerson could not figure out what was up w/ that outfit of hers...

Super fast sliding...

'Cartwheels'...shhh, don't tell her they are really somersaults...well, you can tell her, but she won't believe you...

My snow dog...

One of my favorite things about this weather...watching the wildlife do their thing...

Emerson really did enjoy the sledding...part of the time...

So pretty...

The first snowfall always reminds of how cool snow is...it truly is amazing.

Now, we return you to your regularly scheduled season...maybe...

She's Just a Wanna Be

Grace doesn't really need glasses...they are just for decoration. :)

Pumpkin Patch!

We had our first trip to the pumpkin patch on Wed. GREAT weather and fun, as always. :)

While waiting for PaPa to drive up w/ his tractor/hay rack, we took a trip on the mini hay rack(?) ride...not sure what to call it...Emerson did not appreciate the wait before we started moving...

The new spiderweb was a great distraction while waiting for Papa...

Found Papa!! He carved a little green pumpkin to ride on the front of his tractor...

A result of the hay rack ride...

Riding her favorite animal, in swing form, but still a horse...

Walking and talking...on their way to Grace's favorite thing...

...the goats...

Not sure why he was there, but we ran into a dragon, so took a picture...

The big chair that we walk by every year and never stop for...this year we stopped...
