Easter Weekend

The girl's second favorite holiday came and went...I've got the proof....

Saturday morning found we girls at the annual Egg Hunt in Mawk and Papa's neighborhood.  A tradition the girls love because it's not so much a hunt as it is a "see how many eggs that are just lying around on the ground you can pick up before any of the other kids"...

Gorgeous weather....

See...no joke...eggs just lazing about...

Whoa...what's that I see...did someone attempt to actually HIDE an egg or two...

I had to finally stop them from gathering because their haul was getting a bit excessive...well, I thought it was, they didn't see the issue...

"I want to be IN the tree!"  "No, I want to be in the tree"  Sigh.

How about we take turns?  (No one warned me that sisters can fight so much...good grief.)

Back home for the dyeing of the eggs...it's serious...

I had to ask her to break her concentration for that smile... ;)

Pastels it is!

Easter morning!!  It had been a rainy, cool week, but Easter Sunday broke out warm and sunny, even first thing in the morning!!!  I am not surprised at all...it's a holiday of hope and that reminder was evident in the air outside...

The finds...they actually had to HUNT for those...and after the lazy Saturday morning hunt, Sunday morning's hunt was shocking to Eme who said to me at the start "Mama, can't you just show me where they are?!".  Oh brother.

Grace's "special" egg.  Why special?  That striped plastic egg was Grace's favorite this year and the day before she accidentally broke it.  Tears and despair followed.  So, a rare After School Special parenting moment occurred  and I said "Think of the tree branch that the Peanuts gang turned into a beautiful Christmas tree.  This is the special needs egg.  Love on it (in the form of scotch tape) and I bet the Easter Bunny will make it extra special by filling it with something, well, special."  She set to work and thus, the "special" egg was born.

Eme's special egg?  She just randomly chose one... ;)...but it made it no less special...

"We have to stand by ANOTHER tree?!"  Yep.  Now stop laughing and smile, damn it...

Thank You. (yes, Eme's shirt is turned inside out.  I don't know why because it's Eme..:) )

Easter afternoon at Mawk and Papa's house.  The favorite Easter Egg Tree...

And again...eggs that are actually hidden...so well that we couldn't find three and the guy who hid 'em couldn't remember where they were either...(sorry Dad, called you out! :) )...

Love me some Tyler.

Eme doesn't think he's half bad either...

Uncle Jay...he was stealing her giant egg...given to her by Uncle Jeff...it came to blows (no, not really), but no major injuries and Eme scored her egg back in the end...

Jay made up for his thievery by pushing her around the yard...

 She hated it...

 Love me some Zac.

These two are cut from the same cloth, I do believe...Eme's look says it all...

Love the affection between these two...

Miss seeing my Squirt more often...
