Durham Museum

First and foremost, my crafty and creative little G-bug sat for several hours and made the little door decorations seen below....just cute.

Okay...other stuff...

Durham Museum with the Mawk and Papa.....love the supersized tree....

Trolley car of yesterday...G was impressed...

She was impressed however with the Christmas Around the World display that showed how different countries might decorate their Christmas Trees.  G and E favored Lithuanian's tree(not pictured), while I favored Germany and Scandinavia(pictured below)...

Santa made an appearance, as did two of his reindeer...Prancer and....

....Dancer....

Love my girls...

Love this tree....tried to show it's size from below...just massive and beautiful and I didn't want to leave it!!!

Also made some ornaments while we were there...

Papa was having the time of his life...

Made some friends...

Last big holiday outing until the big day...great way to wrap up the pre-Christmas fun...

Christmas Tradition

The tradition continues...last night the girls and I took in The Christmas Carol at the Omaha Community Playhouse and again it was FANTASTIC!!  It is the best way to start off the Christmas week!!

A light dinner before....

Heading to our seats...

The aftermath...so pretty in person...

Love how the cast roams the lobby after the production...Grace LOVED this guy...me too...cheerful as Father Christmas himself....

Last Day

So.  Last day of school rally...the entire school 'claps out' the 5th graders.  Normally parents don't witness this, but being lucky enough to work there, I saw it.  Yes, I cried.  Uh huh.  Yep.

And I really cried when just as Grace stood up to walk out...the battery in my camera died.  Luckily, the librarian recorded her walking out, so I will have that soon as a keepsake, but it's a cute tradition...one worth remembering. xo

5th Grade Last All School Rally

The last day of school is a big deal for the 5th grader's who are Middle School bound.  At the end of the day, the entire school gathers to celebrate and at one point they ask each grade level to stand and dance.  G FINALLY did it!! :)

Schools Out For Summer

Kindergarten and 5th grade are DONE!!  Summer V-cay is upon us!!

The annual, last day of school pic...

The annual reflection back on the first day of school pic and look how they've changed...

Since G is on her way to Middle School in the fall...sniff sniff...I wanted a shot of her with all of her teachers at Wheeler.  Sadly her 1st grade teacher Mrs. Brosz was out with the flu and her Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Jaworski, retired a few  years ago.  BUT..we got four of the six and that's good enough! :)  Amazing teachers...changed  her life...she was blessed.  (lft to right:  Mrs. Lomax(2nd grade), Mr. Fleming(3rd grade), Mrs. McGregor(5th grade) and Mrs. Dizona(4th grade) )

We helped out a little in moving the teacher I work with to her new classroom...so, a view of my new "office" for next year...

The girls wanted to help just so they could ride in the elevator, I think...(I am going to MISS having them both in the same school next year..that was way more fun than I thought it would be!)

The end of the school year is a bittersweet time, but I am so proud of how much these two girls have grown and I can't wait to see what's next for them. xo

Got to take my first field trip with Eme last Thursday..day at the zoo...in a lot of rain...and cold...but..worth every minute.

Eme's bestie, Jamison...

Peacock viewing...

Waiting in the rain for the bus...

Weekends At the Park

We girls spend a tremendous amount of time at parks on the weekend.  Can't get enough.

Two weekends ago...Platte River State Park.  Lunch on the dock..feeding the ducks after...

My best.

Always time for the horses...

Archery...G's second time..she hit it every time...inspired by one Katniss Everdeen, I do believe...

Eme's first time ever...not bad...

Back to the horses...

Tower climbing...couldn't wait to come back down...

Old fashioned play...and trust me, a lot of bickering... ;)

Oh wait...horses again!

How I spend my time out there...behind the lens...

This weekend...Walnut Grove Park.  Dinner in the park and then feeding of the ducks..well..sort of.  Eme tried, but the duck wanted no part of her business...

....until Eme started walking back to the table...then the duck got interested and so Eme ran back...

Menacing clouds on one side....

Beautiful blue skies on the other...

Just a great sky...

Dancing in the park...

Cuties.

A double rainbow for dessert...  Nice way to spend the evening.
