It being the first day of summer break and all, we decided to go crazy and head to the Children's Museum. Why is that crazy you ask? Well, first, let's talk about the price. On second thought, let's not, but let's DO talk about how many kids were there today, it being a rainy day and all...wow. Just wow. :) The girls had a blast, however and we spent over six hours there!!!!!
The farm friends...
The bug display..for a limited time only! The look on Grace's face? That's because that giant praying mantis behind her just moved and said her name. Okay..it didn't really say her name, but that would be kind of cool, wouldn't it? It did however move and if caught off guard, it could be somewhat disturbing. To add to the fun, these larger than life bugs were scattered all over the room and they ALL moved..just whenever...so, enjoy kids...enjoy the grasshopper (who happens to be the size of a large SUV) leaping to his feet suddenly, when you least expect it...yes, sleep well tonight, kids. :)
They scare you...you join them... Not surprising this was the kid who wanted to keep going back to the bugs...it's not a coincidence that her nickname is Bug. She's my little science geek...love it. :)
This is the part Emerson couldn't get to fast enough...the theatre make-up.
I have no idea. She did it herself and said she was a funky clown. That's one way to describe it, I guess.
Apparently she was going for the 'recently in a fight on the playground' look....I was later informed it was a puppy...?

They spent tons of time grocery shopping and checking out...Grace is the checker..surprise!..Eme the customer..see 'em?
Grace kept getting splashed by the little boy just out of the shot, which annoyed her greatly, so...they got in a fight and that's how she got that black eye...oh wait, no...that's her theatre 'puppy dog' make-up....never mind.
I forgot to mention...if the giant moving bugs weren't enough..the bug room also had a restaurant...stocked full of leaves, fruit and hamburger buns? Seriously. (Yes, it was all fake food)
Eme loved stuffing the balls in the air tube and watching them go up...
And they played for a long time in the playhouse..wish we had one of these at my house(although it's almost as big as my actual house)...I would never see the girls if we had this thing....and now I've just given myself away, haven't I....now you see how my mind works....
So, the Grace traded in her beaten up puppy dog makeup for a One Direction theme and she asked for my help! I know..shocking, right?
She wanted me to write "Harry Lover". I said, "Well..how about we just not write lover on you anywhere, ever." She went with I love Harry.
They had a good time...
Little cutie beans...
We went downtown and ate dinner and then wandered over to the big candy store. They had an old fashioned video arcade and I introduced the girls to Pinball. They didn't do half bad. :)
While eating dinner, Grace thanked me for taking them to the museum and then to dinner. Eme, not missing a beat while coloring, said "Well, that's what mom's are for, Grace..for taking us places and spoiling us."
Well.
Maybe sometimes. xo
