Day 61

Grace went shopping w/ Mawk (Grandma Cramer) today for school clothes, so Eme and I were on our own.  We took a lovely stroll along a nature trail and then shared lunch..just the two of us. :)

She almost had the little butterfly....

The little rascal she was trying to catch...

This guy was smart...got up way high in the tree...

This guy just kept landing on the seat of her tricycle...

I lost count of how many of these she gave me....so sweet.

Found more mulberries...she ate tons, fresh from the tree...

I like the way things look thru the lens....

Hope....

"So.....is he going to kill me?", Eme asked me quite seriously upon laying her eyes on this toad.  I don't think it was on his agenda, but, well....never know, I guess....

She really enjoyed the time pedaling instead of walking....the solitude was so nice....beautiful day...a bit of peace.

And we wrapped our time up w/ lunch at one of her favorite places...

After reading under the tree again for a good spell that afternoon...it was time to head to church for Vacation Bible School....the girls were both in class....

And I taught...farm theme, so I did what I could to look farmish....not really my look of choice, but my dad's oversized plaid helped...so did the cowboy hat and bandana....which I had long taken off by the time this was taken!  I decided tonight that I don't enjoy hats much...especially cowboy hats.  Guess I'm no cowboy...that's good news, folks.

We played at the park right outside our church after...just to stretch our legs a bit....the girls really enjoy school..in fact they have been singing the songs all night...ready for round two tmrrw....not sure I am, but they are! :)

Day 57-60

Day 57.....just a typical Saturday, highlighted beautifully by a lovely late lunch w/ my sister-in-love, Kim.  PERFECT weather, GREAT food and the BEST conversation and company.

Day 58...once again, fairly typical Sunday, but several hours w/ Jay and Kate made it a bit more special...

Jay and Kate gave the girls an introduction to the fine sport of tennis.  Initially, they were just the ball girls while J and K finished off their "best out of three" competition....

And then the instruction began...Kate took the little one...

Jay took his buddy....

And they both loved it...

As J & K weren't able to make it to Eme's birthday party, Jay presented E w/ a card and a picture to lead her to her gift....

So...off they went...

And she was THRILLED! :)  The one thing she kept asking about after her birthday and before her birthday...Hula Hoop...Hula Hoop...Hula Hoop....

Jay discovered that it is indeed a sport for the young...he's not alone...I've figured that out as well, however I did it in the privacy of my backyard! :)

She was excited to show Grace and me...

She also rec'vd a goodie box of outdoors fun supplies...chalk, bubbles, etc...

The girls had a memorable and fun afternoon....thanks Jay and Kate. xo

Day 59(Monday, July 29th)...prepare for VBS at church....

Day 60

A little shared reading time w/ Boo....under the tree...only the sounds of the birds and well, Eme's voice..."I think I might be a reader, Mom...I mean, a REAL reader...like you."

Later in the evening...no pictures to show for it, but Jeff treated me to a viewing of "Springsteen and I"....really, really enjoyed it...enjoyed the company even more.  Thanks Jeff, Kim and Tyler. xo

Lots of goose bump moments...lots of laughs and YES...I got teary eyed...

Thought For the Moment

Day Fifty One-Fifty Six (July 21st-July 26th)

We had a week of nothing, which was the best feeling.

Day Fifty Six-Friday....the weather was outstanding for late July...just GORGEOUS...the girls ventured off to the park...and this supplied a strong example of my girls and their individual personalities.....Eme went to the park to ride...

This one went w/ her backpack full of her notebook, pencils and her camera...to see what she could see in the park...

She came back w/ many drawings...I just asked her for her favorite.

She creates so much art, she has resorted to sticking it on the kitchen cupboards...

And the fridge....

We had a lovely invitation to visit w/ my cousins Kim and Tim, so the girls and I made the most addicting snack known to man...mix those M&Ms in and it's the best blend of sugar/salty you'll ever have.

Didn't get a single picture of the cousins, but the girls loved hanging w/ Molly...

And I Quote

"Mom.  I am a little bit crying because it's very touching."--Emerson, while listening to this song.

And I Quote

"If you love someone, you love them no matter what.  That's why I would love Harry even if he shaved all his hair off. "  ---Grace.
