And I Quote...

"I'll love you for a thousand years, Mommy...and even longer than that."...Emerson, after hearing this song (she loves to sing the words and it sounds extremely sweet coming from her)....

"Mom. I've loved you a long time. In fact, I think I loved you before I even KNEW you."...sigh...that was from my Bug while listening to this song. xoxoxo

Trick or Treat!

The school party...

This is what second grade looks like...

Grace wanted me to point out that she is NOT holding that boy's hand...!

Eme had been sick all weekend and still wasn't feeling great...Grace gave her a lot of love that day....

Pretty cute to watch...this mom got the kids so dizzy....

The mummy game...Grace and her two buddies...and let me just say that I don't recommend this game as it entails someone (that would be me) attaching prizes to the toilet paper (5-6 per roll) and rewraping the rolls...and that wasn't an ideal way to spend an hour, trust me....(see that little girl popping up in the front? That's Justine and she literally has me laughing every time I spend any time with her...she tells me all of the time that 'Grace IS fashion'...? What does that even mean! So cute)....

Pumpkin bowling...those kids have serious arms on them...they broke open one pumpkin and practically destroyed several of the water bottles...geesh....

The cookie station...what's so cute about this picture is simply that Sam, Grace and Jadyn were in Kindergarten together and now they are reunited in 2nd grade and they are still such good friends and stick together and that just makes me smile.... :)

That night...

I don't need to explain what they are, do I?

We got to go around the neighborhood w/ Grace's friend, Jacob...he's off in the distance in the first picture....trick or treating is always better w/ a friend, but I am amazed at how quickly the girls pooped out....they just don't build kids like they used to.... :) It was very, very cute though...most of the time Emerson could be heard yelling 'Hey guys, wait for meeeeee!'....

You can't see it...not really at all...but, this house was trying to be creepy...complete w/ a makeshift haunted house in the garage....

...and so my girls could be found here, while Jacob and Mike headed up to the house...

I love the expression on Eme's face...

She's just cute...the little one, I mean...

Ah, Dee. My folks have lived next to Dee since they first moved into their home and when I was a kid, she spoiled me rotten...now she spoils my girls rotten...sweet, sweet lady...

By the end of the night, they were on a sugar high and overtired...switching out the costumes...livin' on the edge....

A Day At The Park

First field trip of the school year!!

Grace's class hit Schram Park yesterday for a bit of hiking, fossil digging and fish watching (no, really...we watched fish). It was beautiful weather and I got to go along to help wrangle the kids.

Bug really got into the fossils. In fact, she is insisting that we head back out there over the weekend so she can find some more....

Grace and Sam. :) So cute. These two were in the same Kindergarten class, separated last year and now they are back in the same class. They are so sweet together...just to listen to them talk made me smile. Such good friends and even though they weren't designated partners yesterday, they always wound up right next to each other anyway.

This was Grace's true partner for the day, Jadyn. Grace and Jadyn have been in the same class every year and every year, on every field trip I always have Jadyn in my care....she is a sweet, sweet girl so I love having her with us....

Seriously...gross.

Mrs. Lomax and her second grade class.... (Have I mentioned how much we love Mrs. Lomax? We really do.)

Rock-n-Roll Chick

Emerson calls this her 'rock-n-roll dress'....too darn cute. :)

Even when she's in her traditional Eme pose....(argh, those fingers...get them out of your mouth! :) )....still cute!

It's Back!

Oh gosh, yes...it's the pumpkin patch!! My girls have been talking about this since it closed up for the season last year. We made our first visit Wed and if only every last one of you had been in that car with us....wow! The screams...the squeals...literally made me jump in my seat!

It's beginning to look a lot like....THE best time of the year!!!!

And this, my friends, is how you know your camera is dying a slow, long, torturous death...such a cute picture, too....so much potential. :(

The girls beamed w/ pride...truly...they watched Papa the entire ride.....

We made it safely to the patch...no pumpkin picking for us, but no harm in some pumpkin browsing....

We love that Papa jumps right in....luckiest girls in the world, I tell you....

She still loves these guys....

Apparently, he had somewhere else to be....he tried and tried and tried to use that feeding opening as an escape hatch....

See that smile? That's a kettle corn smile. Believe me, I had the exact same reaction. :)

Xander the dragon was out cold, I'm afraid...we had just missed him....

'Smores...yep...good stuff...

And then they bounced. And bounced. And bounced. This was the first year that Emerson would do it on her own (well, I had to sit on the thing w/ her, but the bouncing was all her)....she loved it!!!

Miss Grace was in on it too, but she spent most of her time on the other bouncy thing...you know, 'where the big kids go'. :)

This is how it all ended. Swimming in corn....I am still honestly amazed at the draw this big bin of corn has for the kids....they will play in it the whole time if you let them....they were pretending to swim and Emerson held her nose every time she 'dived' in....
